Kate is an award-winning documentary filmmaker investigating power, technology, and citizenship in the digital age. Recent work includes the feature documentary Phantom Parrot (2023)—a nonfiction thriller exposing a secret U.K. government surveillance program— which premiered at CPH:DOX and Sheffield Doc/Fest, screened theatrically across the U.K and in the Houses of Parliament., and was acquired for U.S. distribution by Tribeca Films. Her other films include The Family Statement (Field of Vision, 2022), Mother (BFI London Film Festival, 2020), and the RTS and Grierson Award–winning Fake News Fairytale (2018). Her work has been supported by BFI Doc Society, Catapult Film Fund, Tribeca Film Institute, and The Fund for Investigative Journalism, and featured by The Atlantic Selects, Short of the Week, and Vimeo Staff Pick. Kate has worked internationally as a cinematographer and has taught filmmaking at the National Film & Television School, the Royal Academy of Art in the Hague, and UCL.
