Meta Mate They/Them

We are mate hackers on a mission to fuel the community with renewable forest energy.   For over the past decade Meta Mate has been creating improvisational versions of the MateVerse where people can sit down and talk in real time over a Mate.

The netz community in Berlin is notorious for it's consumption of Mate.  Club Mate is a curious exilir for the out of town visitors, however, in the past 10 years, the mate bubble exploded over Berlin providing numerous option for the bottled brause drinkers.  An increasing number of mate drinkers  wanting to cut down on the sugar consumption turn to us when looking for DIY mate solutions. 

Long before the internet existed, the Guarani Indians used to sit around the fire and exchange information while sharing a mate, the drink fostered positive creative envisioning....Centuries later we sit around computers in urban contexts and share information over bottles of mate....The forests and the commons are on the verge of extinction due to centuries of colonialism and capitalism but there is still time to change and we believe that with correct choices we can save the world one sip at a time.
